Hi Everyone!
Well...we've been very busy the passed few weeks, wedding season has already started for us (teasers are coming soon) and we've been hard at work editing and shooting away! That being said, I know I promised the post a vote for our contest, so here goes...
First off, thanks to everyone who participated and shared their vision with us- your ideas were great! It was VERY hard to narrow things down, each idea had such potential- but ultimately, we decided on the entries that were the most unique, things and places we hadn't seen done before.
THE TOP IDEAS ARE, IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER:
1. ~Biker Love~ Claire and her man love going on long rides together on his Motorcycle (aka the other girlfriend). Think action shots, riding off into the sunset and some great candid’s of the two of them enjoying one of their favorite activities in the great outdoors.
2. ~Supermarket Sweeps~ Ana met her fiancé at the ripe ol' age of 17 at her part-time job at the Supermarket! See the two of them perusing the aisles, picking out fruit in the produce section, chilling in the buggie-hut outside and taking advantage of all the great graphic elements a grocery store can offer.
3. ~50's Glam~ Jenn & Gavin are loving the show Mad Men and want a contemporary twist on the hot 50's glam style. Picture a cocktail dress, killer heels, clean suits and style. A fresh look at the old housewife look and perhaps a night out on the town?
4. ~Going Steady~ Julie and her soon-to-be-hubby are your classic high school sweethearts! They'd like to hit their old school and take a trip down memory lane... chilling in those tiny desks, sneaking kisses by the lockers, hiding under the bleachers, maybe sport their old team jerseys for a few shots as an added twist.
5. ~Deco Delight~ Shaun and his man are planning a unique Art Deco wedding. They see themselves decked out in period clothing, chilling at their venue the Palais Royale: sipping cocktails in the parlor, dancing through the ballroom and strolling the grounds in style.
{to view the full entries, check out the comments on the original contest posting}
So here's the fun part- you get to tell us your choice! Look through the top entries and decide which idea you'd like to see come alive, vote below and have your say. Choose carefully- there's only one vote per person. The polls will stay open for 3 weeks… so feel free to share the contest with your family and friends- the pitch with the most votes will WIN their shoot for FREE! And we will (of course) share the images with you here on the blog!

So as you know we love to encourage couples to get creative when it comes to Engagement Stories... we aim to capture your personalities in a location that is both meaningful and unique.
OK- so here's the deal:
We're looking for the most outrageous, creative, dynamic and exciting ideas for engagement shoots you've got: tell us your idea and let us bring it to light! If it's meaningful to you and your fiance in some way, be sure to tell us- or if you just think it's a wicked photo idea that'll work too!
Post your BEST engagement story idea- now we're not talking gardens and greenhouses here (not that there's anything wrong with that) but rather creative locations or activities that you think would take your engagement session to the next level.
Your funky, creative submissions will be accepted until March 16th at which point we'll open them up for voting and YOU will choose which shoot you'd like to see come alive!
The winner will receive a FREE engagement story session including: an archival, high resolution DVD of all colour corrected images, a password protected, online viewing gallery, and your choice of a framed 11x17 print or a Fine Art Guest Book.
Already booked with us? No problem! Shoot us your creative ideas anyways and you could still win a shoot- post wedding, casual portraits, trash the dress- it's your choice.
Inspiration...Jenn & Chester love to explore small towns together on weekends- their shoot at St.Jacob's Market was full of personality and stunning scenery:
The fine print:
* While we'd love to travel to Paris to shoot you and your fiance at the Eiffel Tower, a travel fee would apply... pretty much anywhere within a 1 hour radius of Toronto will be included in the prize.
* Prize must be claimed and shot before the end of 2009- which gives you lots of time!
* The winners shoot will be showcased on the blog!
* No purchase necessary.
Excitement!!!

Alright, I know we've been falling behind on our blog updates, and I know we keep saying that, but its been pretty nuts around here in the days leading up to the National Bridal Show. The booth, by the way, is starting to look pretty awesome, we are both super excited and exhausted over the whole ordeal. Hopefully we will see everyone at the show, but in case you miss it don't worry, we will post some photos!
We've got a few really exciting things to share with you today though, so here goes...
First of all, thank you to everyone who participate in our National Bridal Show Ticket Contest! We had a great response and it's always great to hear from those who are frequenting the blog. Thanks to everyone for their kind words and feedback, remember that our comment section is always open for you so don't hesitate to drop us a line! And the winner is... CHARLOTTE!
Charlotte, we've sent you an email and your tickets will be waiting for you at the front entrance! The show runs all weekend and is open on Friday from 5 to 9pm, Saturday from 10am to 9pm and Sunday from 10am to 6pm.
Aside from being ridiculously busy preparing for the show, we've also got a little something extra to share: CONGRATULATIONS TO TREVOR!
He was just accepted into the Wedding Photojournalist Association! This is very exciting news - yay Trevor! {in case you can't tell, I'm very proud!} It's no wonder his awesome documentary work has been recognized as fitting for this elite group!
In case you aren't familiar with them, here is an excerpt explaining who they are:
"The Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA), an International, membership-based organization, represents professional photographers skilled in the documentation of weddings and events in a candid, unobtrusive style. The WPJA was founded to uphold excellence in the area of wedding photojournalism" - wpja.com
Basically, the WPJA is an organization of "Wedding Photojournalists" with very strict membership guidelines. It is designed to assist individuals and wedding planners in finding a documentary-style photographer, and is also a great opportunity for photographers to network and advance their skills through competition. It's a great way to be recognized and showcase our work!
And if that weren't enough, we'd also like to share that we have updated our online portfolios with images from our 2008 season. Some you may have seen before on the blog, but most should be new for everyone. We try to update our portfolios often to keep our work current and best depict our style. As always we appreciate your feedback, so feel free to fire us an email or leave us a comment with your thoughts.
ALRIGHT! So that's it for now, but we'll be posting again soon with updates from the show. Hopefully we'll see you there!
Stay warm and enjoy the wintery snow- remember, the perfect cure for the winter blues is a crazy carpet and a snowy hill!

Well- it's official, 2009 is finally here and we're both extremely excited about it! We've lined up a ton of awesome weddings for next season and we're gearing up for our new booth at the National Bridal Show later this month.
We've been hard at work organizing, printing and planning- we are offering a lot of great new products this season and we'll be showcasing them all at the show! The booth is coming together quickly, Trevor (being the handy man that he is) has been busy drawing up plans, cutting, hammering and piecing everything together.
And now we'd like to invite YOU to come and see what all the fuss is about: we're giving away two free tickets to the Bridal Show!
All you have to do is check out the blog (if you're reading this, you're already half way there) and tell us what you think. Choose your favourite post, tell us your thoughts and you'll be entered to win- simple, right? We'll place all those who participate into a draw later this month and choose the winner at random- you will be notified via email if your name is chosen, so be sure to leave us your e-address when commenting. The Bridal Show is a great place to search for vendors, invitations, honeymoon locations, cake and much more. Best of all... you can see our new creation in action! The show runs from Friday, January 23rd to Sunday the 25th and we'll both be there sporting a stylin booth, modern products and new photos. Hope you can drop by for a visit!
Thanks for stopping by- here's wishing everyone an exciting, happy and memorable 2009!!!
-Larissa & Trevor
