OK....
So I couldn't resist sharing a little something with you...
The new Ambient Lux Album has arrived and I have to admit for lack of a better word, I am absolutely in LOVE with these books! They are everything we have been looking for in an album, amazing print quality, unique style, modern touches throughout and lots of class. I just had to share a sneak-peek with you!
We have a new, funky red portfolio to showcase our images:
AND.....
The best of the best...our new sample album, featuring Erin & Ryan's wedding back in August:
Not only that- but we've updated the show booth with some great new prints- Trev snapped this hilarious shot of our framer loading the (extra large) prints out of the factory on his blackberry. Oddly enough, it is one of the only days that he didn't have an SLR or Range-finder with him.... Murphy's Law! :) We decided it was too funny not to share- these prints are HUGE!
We're off shortly to add the finishing touches to our booth- be sure to stop by and say hello if you're coming this weekend!

We have a verrry lovely booth set up for your pleasure this weekend at The National Bridal Show and we'd love to see you there!
Stop in to say hello, take a look at our fabulous new albums, browse through our updated portfolios, check out a sample Ambient Box Set and tell us more about your plans.
This year we have been selected as an Eco-Friendly vendor- you'll find us at booth #736, the show runs Friday to Sunday at the International Center with free parking and many vendors to help you along with your day. :)
We hope to see you there! Have a fantastic weekend everyone.

Hi Everyone!
Well the new website is finally here... and we do mean finally as this has been a major undertaking, we've put sooo many hours into this and we're excited to finally be able to share the results with you.
That being said, we've noticed a few glitches and I assure you we are working around the clock to get them all fixed. For those of you using older versions of Internet Explorer - if you can read this - we are working to get those issues fixed as quickly as possible. :) We also have a few minor cosmetic upgrades coming your way, but most of the good stuff is already here for us to share with you!
Navigation on this site should be pretty straight forward (we hope!). We invite you to browse, comment, and check everything out! We're excited to showcase new, larger images on all our upcoming posts and hope that the merging of the blog and website will help you gain some inspiration for your own day!
We hope that you'll enjoy Ambient Studio's new online home ~ let us know what you think by leaving a few comments! ;)
...and we have a few more surprises up our sleeves for you too!
We're excited to announce that we have been selected by The National Bridal Show as an Eco-Friendly Vendor!
Trevor and I have been working over time prepping for the show- and we have a few very exciting new things in the works- be sure to stay tuned for a fresh new look, some fantastic new albums and a new virtual space that we hope you'll love as much as we do!
And of course, be sure to stop by our booth at the show to say hello- the show runs from September 11th to 13th at the International Centre.
Trev & I were shooting Danielle & Dave's wedding on Saturday and had our very own table at the reception...
Don't our bags just look hilarious together? We're both in love with our shooting systems, pictured here is my Shootsac & Trevor's Domke Bag- they say opposites attract, right? ;)
Thanks to everyone who participated, spread the word and voted for their top choice!
It was a close race, but we'd like to congratulate Jen & Gavin who have won the contest with a whopping 770 votes! I'm looking forward to working with the two of you and making your 50's Glam Style Shoot a reality. :)
Well...we've been very busy the passed few weeks, wedding season has already started for us (teasers are coming soon) and we've been hard at work editing and shooting away! That being said, I know I promised the post a vote for our contest, so here goes...
First off, thanks to everyone who participated and shared their vision with us- your ideas were great! It was VERY hard to narrow things down, each idea had such potential- but ultimately, we decided on the entries that were the most unique, things and places we hadn't seen done before.
Alright, I have some very exciting news... two of Trevor's photos from our past season have won awards in the WedComp International Wedding Image Competition! WedComp is an internationally recognized competition judged by professionals in the field and open to wedding photographers world-wide.
Trevor's Getting Ready shot of the groomsman was chosen as 10th Place:
Judge's Comments for the photo above:
The chaos of this scene is intriguing and I like how the photographer got into the midst of the activity. There are a few little scenes happening in this single image, most notably the guys on the right struggling with their ties. It's a funny image that makes me feel like I'm in the room with the groomsmen.
And placing 12th in the Ceremony category was this fantastic image of the guests during the nuptials:
Congrats to Trevor whose keen eye and wicked documentary style has earned him international acclaim in this well-know contest! Very proud of you babe! ;)

Alright, I know we've been falling behind on our blog updates, and I know we keep saying that, but its been pretty nuts around here in the days leading up to the National Bridal Show. The booth, by the way, is starting to look pretty awesome, we are both super excited and exhausted over the whole ordeal. Hopefully we will see everyone at the show, but in case you miss it don't worry, we will post some photos!
We've got a few really exciting things to share with you today though, so here goes...
First of all, thank you to everyone who participate in our National Bridal Show Ticket Contest! We had a great response and it's always great to hear from those who are frequenting the blog. Thanks to everyone for their kind words and feedback, remember that our comment section is always open for you so don't hesitate to drop us a line! And the winner is... CHARLOTTE!
Charlotte, we've sent you an email and your tickets will be waiting for you at the front entrance! The show runs all weekend and is open on Friday from 5 to 9pm, Saturday from 10am to 9pm and Sunday from 10am to 6pm.
Aside from being ridiculously busy preparing for the show, we've also got a little something extra to share: CONGRATULATIONS TO TREVOR!
He was just accepted into the Wedding Photojournalist Association! This is very exciting news - yay Trevor! {in case you can't tell, I'm very proud!} It's no wonder his awesome documentary work has been recognized as fitting for this elite group! :D
In case you aren't familiar with them, here is an excerpt explaining who they are:
"The Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA), an International, membership-based organization, represents professional photographers skilled in the documentation of weddings and events in a candid, unobtrusive style. The WPJA was founded to uphold excellence in the area of wedding photojournalism" - wpja.com
Basically, the WPJA is an organization of "Wedding Photojournalists" with very strict membership guidelines. It is designed to assist individuals and wedding planners in finding a documentary-style photographer, and is also a great opportunity for photographers to network and advance their skills through competition. It's a great way to be recognized and showcase our work!
And if that weren't enough, we'd also like to share that we have updated our online portfolios with images from our 2008 season. Some you may have seen before on the blog, but most should be new for everyone. We try to update our portfolios often to keep our work current and best depict our style. As always we appreciate your feedback, so feel free to fire us an email or leave us a comment with your thoughts.
ALRIGHT! So that's it for now, but we'll be posting again soon with updates from the show. Hopefully we'll see you there!
Stay warm and enjoy the wintery snow- remember, the perfect cure for the winter blues is a crazy carpet and a snowy hill!
