Jenny & Martin | 08.08.09

Well, we packed up the car and headed off bright and early to meet Jenny & Martin up in Muskoka for a wedding that was the perfect mix of tradition and casual elegance. I simply love the idea of truely enjoying your day and these two seemed to have it figured out.

We spent the day with them at The Rosseau Resort, began with some getting ready photos and then headed down for a stunning outdoor ceremony. White wooden chairs lined the green courtyard and the lake made for a perfect backdrop. Everyone looked simply gorgeous, the bridesmaids were stunning in teal and our groom sported a fetching Scottish-inspired vest under his tux! As always, the little ones stole the show with a Ring Bearer who had no interest in walking down the aisle and Kingsley, the flower girl who slowly and cautiously made her way over the rose petals so as not to wreck her adorable little dress!

Now, I have to mention what a great idea I think this is... after the ceremony we took a few pictures with family and headed indoors for the lunch reception. A formal reception with a delicious buffet brought everyone together, family and friends were able to enjoy their meal, speeches, the flower and guarder toss and had a chance to congratulate the new couple. Now here is the great part: after the reception everyone had some free time to mingle, relax and get enjoy everything the resort had to offer. Guests changed into comfortable clothes and gathered on the terrace to meet, laugh and reminisce. Later in the evening a casual barbecue brought everyone back together and the party continued into the night. It was such a great way to involve everyone- guests who weren't planning on spending the night were able to enjoy the ceremony, some good food and could make it home in time for dinner. Those who were able to stay had time to enjoy themselves and round-out their mini vacation with a swim or a few drinks on the patio in the afternoon sun. What a great way to let everyone enjoy the day!

Jenny & Martin were adorable together- it seemed to us that this wedding perfectly represented them as a couple. It was a beautiful day, and very well done!
